Summary/Abstract: The interpretation of the CPE Bach’s Sonata for solo flute A minor (W.132 H. 562), written in the 18th century, nowadays represents a big challenge for every professional flute player. This research discusses the concepts of time and space in the interpretation of Emanuel’s composition, from the perspective of today’s technical standards of flute playing and all other components necessary for the development of interpretation. They include understanding of style and historical artistic conventions, as well as application of alternative models of compositional and technical analysis in order to establish new symbolic systems within the interpretation.
