Summary/Abstract: Michael Parenti has suggested the hypothesis that the persistence of ethnic identification among immigrant ethnic groups in America stems in major part from the existence of subsets of ethnic-based social interactions which permeate the living patterns of first, second and event third generation immigrant ethnic populations. From this hypothesis it is postulated that the extent of persisteice of ethnic lattachment over generations should fofe influenced by the degree of ethnic social organization existing in ethnic population communities.
