FORMS OF TEXTUAL TRANSCENDENCE IN DEMOSTENE ANDRONESCU’S LYRICS

Summary/Abstract: As we have also shown in the book Ipostaze ale metaforei în lirica detenţiei (Piteşti, 2007), the authors of the lyrics created in the communist political detention were not only those dedicated poets at the moment of their arrest, but also those who discovered the vocation for poetry in the concentration hell. Despite the fact that they were born in such conditions, some of these lyrics stand for genuine artistic and imagery triumphs.Demostene Andronescu is one of the "imprisoned poets" of the Romanian literature, with the volume Peisaj lăuntric, first published in Sibiu in 1995, then re-edited several times. His lyrics are penetrated by some echoes from Gyr, Arghezi, Blaga, or Voiculescu, but it is not just about involuntary echoes, but also those forms of "textual transcendence" (the antonym of immanence) mentioned by Gérard Genette. He provides an inventory and a comprehensive description of five transtextual practices: intertextuality itself, paratexuality, metatexuality, architextuality and hypertextuality.Based on these prerequisites, the paper aims to discover forms of textual transcendence in Demostene Andronescu’s lyrics, revealing how they contribute to highlighting the message of these lyrics.
