Summary/Abstract: This research work (the basis of which is contained in the report given at the scientific gathering „Tito-The Party” (1937 - 1987), held from December 2-5, 1987 in Kumrovec), offers an insight into the recently discovered documents and historical data, which were not used in the six books of Tito’s Collected Works (prepared from 1977 to 1979), dealing with the period between the two World Wars. Due to the systematic research led from 1979 to 1987 at many Yugoslav archives (especially at the Archives of the Central Committee of the League of Communists of Yugoslavia), and to the studying of certain international communist newspapers and periodicals as well as works of Soviet historians specialized in the history of the Komintern and the Communist Party of Yugoslavia (those historians who had access to the materials of the Komintern’s executive bodies), there were discovered more than a 100 details of Tito’s activities (1928 - 1941) which, directly or indirectly, throw light upon certain phases of the rich revolutionary road of the Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Yugoslavia. Eight individual and collective works of Tito were discovered, two of which are especially interesting. These are Tito’s letter from the Lepoglava prison, dated August 24, 1930 (the only preserved letter from this prison), and the letter from Vienna, dated October 29, 1936. In this group are also two entirely unknown Tito’s articles, published in the second number of the „Proleter” (,,The Proletarian” , organ of the Central Committee of the CPY) of February 1941, also discovered in these researches. Among other documents special value have 15 protocols from the meetings of the Central Committee of the CPY held from 1937 to 1941. at which Tito was either present or mentioned. Although these records do not contain all the details from the meetings, they all, in one way or another, fill in certain gaps. Many events from Tito’s revolutionary activity which the editors of his Collected Works could not date precisely or could only through some indications conclude they actually happened, are now being precisely ascertained, dated or verified, with the help of the discovered documents. The discovered protocols of the Central Commitee from 1939 - 1941 are of great importance. Besides revealing Tito’s presence at the meetings of the Central Committee and his activities, their value lies also in the fact that there existed no document of this kind in the Party’s documentation for the above mentioned period. Very rich with information are tire records of the Central Committee of the CPY from March 19-21 and mid June 1939, and January 7-8, 1941. Considerable new information was, besides the Party documentation, supplied also by the international communist newspapers and periodicals (,,La Correspondence Internationale” , ,,Le Monde”, ,,L’ Humanite”) as well as the newspapers of the Yugoslav working emigration in Canada and USA.
