Summary/Abstract: The article presents issues relating to the contract for entrusting a parish to a religious institute based on can. 520. The starting point is the general characteristics (also in historical terms) of the relationship between convents and the diocese. The author considers in detail the theoretical aspect of can. 520 and then the practical aspect of the above-mentioned agreement. These issues are analysed first of all in the context of the ownership of properties belonging to the religious house and/or the diocese. Analysing these relationships, the author pays special attention to the personal matters, namely, who appears in the broad spectrum of the issue of the parish entrustment agreement, and their meaning and role within it. The author also mentions requirements recommended by canon law and important provisions of the parish entrustment agreement. At the same time, the author offers some examples, which, for practical reasons, should be consistent in the contract. The article presents a summary of the most important elements relating to the parish’s contract for a religious institute, and highlights problematic issues, suggesting proposals for solutions.
