Summary/Abstract: This artical gives a shot critical review of main mathematical techniques for measuring of social development. The basic weakness of functional method is in asumption of deterministic causality. Therefore there is a great valve of unknown variance in results Involving more variables and disaggregation of functions gams no better results. Essencialy, application of this method gives the best results in partial researching.
