Summary/Abstract: Paper describes contemporary culture of fear as an expression of a "crisis of meaning in the West" after fall of Berlin Wall, modern end times narratives as an transformation of traditional apocalyptic motives, and popular scientific series represents as an example of that transformation in a popular culture. First part of the paper is dedicated to the definition, analysis and understanding of culture of fear and its functioning. On the other side, with a contextualization of the series, second part of the paper examens conventions, formulae, and classification of that programms. Also, paper is trying to examen use of fear in creating modern agendas and tasks for a new millennium.
