Summary/Abstract: The paper considers two part of education system of education in Republic of Serbia. From 1945 to 1990. In Serbia was dominated education for (self-government) socialism. After 2000. special attention in the field of education belongs to the citizenship education. In the curricula, introducing the subject citizenship education. This changes justifying with “European integration” process and needs of transition. On the other words, citizenship education will be support crossing from socialism to modern capitalism (civil society). Citizenship education objectives are: spread Western European political values, recognition of education systems of those countries, change of traditional society institututions and structure of consciousness, change of personality structure.
