Summary/Abstract: Modern concepts of fighting crime are based on the idea of training convicted persons to lead a socially useful life, or to enable them to reintegrate into a social environment. One of the most important roles in achieving this goal is precisely the condition of parole. Conditional release (parole) is a measure that aims to end the process of resocialization at liberty, or a measure that continues the positive trend of behavior that has begun through institutional educational treatment during serving a prison sentence. The aim of this paper is to present experiences from the Republic of Serbia about conditional release, to point out some important characteristics of this measure, as well as the way of execution.
