THE INSTITUTIONAL DEVELOPMENT OF THE SOCIOLOGY DEPARTMENT AT THE UNIVERSITY OF EASTERN SARAJEVO

Summary/Abstract: This paper analyzes the institutional development and the position of sociology as a science, currriculum and teaching subjects at the University of Eastern Sarajevo. It is based on empirical data where authors discuss the stages of development of sociology in the institutional and scientific resources. It shows that the development of sociology is much slower compared to other segments of sociology because of formal and informal constraints in the Republic of Srpska.
