THE CONTRIBUTION OF MIROSLAV ŽIVKOVIĆ TO THE RESEARCH ON SOCIOLOGICAL ASPECTS OF HABITATION

Summary/Abstract: This paper aims at representing the image and work of Miroslav Živković, with a special emphasis on his contribution to urban sociology and sociology of habitation. Through his empirical investigation of sociological aspects of habitation, Živković attempted to prove the existence of great social inequalities in the socialist city. He examined lodging circumstances in Belgrade, Novi Sad, Sarajevo, Spalato, and some of the issues he dealt with include segregation in new residential settlements, illegal housing, habitation in skyscrapers.
