Summary/Abstract: The scientific paper deals with the theoretical analysis of deviances as a dysfunctional social phenomenon. In addition to the scientific description of the phenomenon, the paper's aim is also a causal explanation of the problem – determining the cause - effect correlation between dysfunctionality of the social system and deviant behavior, in terms of the social anomie and a disorganization theory, and a structural funcionalism as well. Scientific explanation comes to the result that the absence of standards, i.e. the social control's mechanism inefficiency effects, leads to anomie, which means that deviances occur as the result of the disintegration or the absence of cultural patterns, common values, norms, institutions and the sense of common public interest. Besides that, as the result of the research, the preserving social balance's ways are presented too, as well as specific aspects of adaptation to anomie, with emphasis on the preferred mode of adaptation that accepts cultural objectives of the society and tends to use legitimate means to achieve them. Concluding observations of the problem point to the importance of combating deviances by improving and strengthening the system of social control, through the secondary socialization (within the formal inclusive education system) and the re-socialization (through a non-formal education and lifelong learning), with the aim of ensuring a continuous and stable functioning of society and its development.
