Summary/Abstract: Today more and more the development of the new society is based on the democratic values, tolerance and respect for diversity. In that process of building the society, education in the Republic of Serbia plays an exceptionally important role. Special focus was put on inclusion with the aim of improvement of the position of children disturbed in their development as one of the marginal social groups. What we need is the constant work on the improvement of quality of education and existing conditions for optimal acceptance of these children in the regular school system which should be void of discrimination of any kind. Children disturbed in their development today have a marginal social position due to prejudices, stereotypes, lack of information, underdeveloped social competence in the environments they live in.There should be mutual cooperation between the regular and special school and, depending on the children’s needs, high-quality forms of support through direct, active and team learning and various other activities. The objective of this paper is to present scientific and theoretical knowledge and practical experiences in the work with these children, as well as the presentation of special methods of support which should practically improve prevention, education and resocialization of social and marginal groups and improve their social position. Quality cooperation between regular and special school coordinated by a team of experts who know the specific needs of these children, dynamics and structure of their disharmonic development and ways to overcome the existing problems in teaching and learning, should help in creating positive and stimulating conditions and represents a good base for establishing the good inclusive education in the Republic of Serbia.
