Summary/Abstract: In this paper it is explained the significance of Sreten Vukosavljevic for establishment of rural sociology among Serbs, as well as his endowment for sociological understanding of specificities of the “peasant society“. Given that he is a sociologist who has collected and analyzed extensive empirical material about Serbian village, in this paper we explain the actuality of Vukosavljevic’s specific approach to gathering of scientific data about village and their valid theoretical systematization.
