Summary/Abstract: Heavy metal as musical genre and subculture is becoming very interesting sociological phenomena. With many subgenres, heavy metal goes beyond the limits of “allowed and socially acceptable”, why it is often seen as way to promote deviant behavior. As a culture under the globalization influence, heavy metal scene goes through evolutionary process, and extreme subgenres use occult motives on their stage performance, lyrics, album covers, as important aspect of iconography and as a social symbol. Though, the lyrics talk about social problems, the question of humans and their relationship to the world, heavy metal scene is often tide to deviant subcultures, cults and other controversy. This work represents short review about this subculture and its lifestyle.
