Summary/Abstract: Mediation is a process of constructive, structured and voluntary resolution of disputes. Conflict is at the root of many areas of social work practice, including the area of social deviance. The subject of this article is the analysis of the influence the paradigms and theories of social work and social deviance have on the nature and character of social work. The article explains major theoretical concepts on social work and social deviance. The theories of social work and theories of social deviance have major relevance to mediation, especially socially-anthropological or existential and interactionistical or constructionistical theories.
