Summary/Abstract: President of the Russian Federation is the central figure in the political system of this country. The role of the president is very important in the transition from communism to a democratic political system and in the process of building a democratic state and society. To elections for president is given the growing importance as a test of democracy, as well as a choice for the official policy of the whole of Russia. The election results, again this time, were easily predictable, but showed some new tendencies in the political life of Russia.
