Summary/Abstract: Discussions on life style and quality of life, which in the last decade have become the leilmotive of socio-medical debates, presumes the following possibilities of choice: human, social, cultural and only then health and medical possibilities. As many times in its history, in medicine these possibilities are not regarded as problems. They are simply assumed or understood as such and are being operated as a given condition regardless of the social context and civilizational moment in which these syntagma appear as values.
