Summary/Abstract: Despite her young age, Malala Yousafzai is an icon, who wants to be perceived as quite an ordinary girl at the same time. Malala bravely uses her voice, also on the international arena, especially regarding access to education for all. She lends a voice to those who are not heard. On the basis of her publications, media presentations and documentary film about her life, the author examines the narrative strategies she uses. The author will show how the strategies of authority and celebrity differ, and point out that in the case of Malala, one should look at them together.
