Summary/Abstract: In the first part of the article the author presents some problems related to the evident inefficiency of value-normative patterns operating in the orientation’s field of the social actors in socialist societies and points out the need for reexamining the standards of a distributive justice. In the next part two conceptions of a just society are discussed: B. Horvat’s modified Marxian version and J.Rawls’ revised classic liberal one. The author concludes that in both conceptions one important question remains open: how to reach a social agreement on the means for the realization of the proposed principles of a distributive justice.
