Summary/Abstract: To identify the educational needs that nursery school teachers perceive as a discrepancy betweenthe desired and real results of their work, is achieved through the realization of professional activities. One of the research objectives in relation to the issue of the professional growth of nurseryschool teachers in the Czech education system was to find out whether kindergarten or nurseryschool teachers can identify their educational needs and how these identified educational needshave a form. To achieve the research goal, the concept of triangulation was chosen — a combination of quantitative and qualitative approach. One of the methods outlined above is the method ofdocument analysis and unstructured interview, which was conducted to supplement and verify thedata obtained. The findings showed that the educational need identified by probands is necessaryto develop in the area of professional competence components and that the skill to identify learning needs is an integral part of the process of continuous professional development of the nurseryschool teacher.
