Summary/Abstract: In the first part of the paper author discusses and interprets both the findings of research carried out during 1993 on the random sample of 192 women and statistical data resulted from three years period of work of SOS hoteline in Belgrade. Also, the qualitative analyses of the cases reported to both SOS hoteline and the Shelter for battered women is used as the base of the discussion about the specific influence of war and economical crises on domestic violence against women.
