“Early Years Educators”: A Selected Discussion Group and its Analysis

Summary/Abstract: The paper sets out to present an analysis of the entries (April 2018) in the “Nauczyciele wczesnoszkolni” [Early Years Educators] discussion group on Facebook. The analysis seeks to explore whatcontemporary early years educators know about functioning in multicultural society and how theyprepare themselves and their pupils for intercultural dialogue. This exploratory study adhered tonon-reactive methodology. Content analysis was used, a research method for studying communication artefacts that is suitable for explorations of this kind. The analysis focused on the four pillarsof education according to Jacques Delors: learning to know, learning to do, learning to live together and learning to be. Latent and manifest content was coded with frequency lists (cf. Babbie,2003, pp. 340–353).
