Summary/Abstract: Bronisław Wildstein, a renowned journalist and columnist, presents in his article how it had been fought against lustration in the “Third” Polish Republic in order to prevent the final dealing with the wrong of the People’s Republic of Poland. The author names the arguments and strategies used by the opponents of lustration to protect their own interests. He exposes their hypocrisy which was especially apparent when they often appealed to the Christian virtues in their struggle with lustration. They also tried, using false arguments, to show lustration as immoral and unethical. Mercy deserve – according to the opponents of lustration – only the perpetrators of the wrong, not their victims.
