SOCIO-ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CHARACTERISTICS OF THE SERBIAN VILLAGE

Summary/Abstract: In this paper, there are discussed the main characteristics of the socio-economic development of the rural Serbian areas. After this analysis, it was elaborated the concept of the integral rural development as one of the possible ways of the future rural areas development. In the recent several decades there have happened a huge socio-economic changes in the Serbian village, caused bv the total economic development of a country as well as the character of the established socio-economic and political system. The processes of the population deagrarization were developing too fast and elemental, exceeding the productive employment possibilities of the rural labour surpluses into non-agrarian activities.
