Summary/Abstract: The paper is focused on the differences of Kant and Frege on the issue of the nature of mathematical objects and truths. After a short survey of how both thinkers see the nature of mathematics Frege's view that Arithmetic is analytic is discussed. On the basis of his own definition of what analytical truth is Frege reaches inGrundlagen an analytic definition of Number and cherishes the hope to show that, unlike Geometry, Arithmetic is analytic and is simply an extension of logic. The depiction of the unsuccessful and somewhat tragic end of Frege's logicism serves as an end of the paper.
