Summary/Abstract: The article provides a short overview of very intense Yugoslav-Soviet military relations. It contains full details of delivered military equipment, training of the Yugoslav military personnel in Red Army schools, activities of Soviet military advisers and other means of Sovietisation within the Yugoslav Army. The sharp dispute which occurred in 1948, was preceded by misunderstandings on both sides and it is described on several levels. The break in weapon delivery and the wide spynetwork created by the Soviets is stressed as serious shock for the Yugoslav Army. Despite the short time span (1945-1948), the Yugoslav-Soviet military relations were of tremendous importance for the further development of the Yugoslav Army.
