Summary/Abstract: In this article author is truing to outline the set of reasons of fragmentation of Yugoslavia contained in official policy of multiculturalism under the rule of Communist party. Tliis policy introduced by the victorious Yugoslav communist party in 1945. allowed for interaction of cultures and. from 1952. the party actively promoted a new culture of Yugoslavism based on interaction of all Yugoslav national cultures. In 1956 tliis policy came under attack from Slovene intelllectuals and by 1958 the Yugoslav communist party abandoned its interactive multiculturalism. During the early sixties it was replaced by fairly strict segregationist multiculturalism.
