Summary/Abstract: The paper discusses the problem of fan-made fiction literature and readership. Fan fiction (fanfic) is amateur work, created by readers/fans of certain novels, tv series, films etc. based on their original narratives, and disseminated mostly online. Factors influencing the popularity of fan fiction presented in the following article were described based on the results of a research carried out on the biggest Polish online forum – Forum Literackie Mirriel (Literary Forum Mirriel), attracting those interested in this kind of literature.
