Summary/Abstract: Criteria weights determination is one of the crucial elements of the process of multi-criteria decision aiding. Weights for the criteria can be obtained by using many different methods, for example: Hokkanen and Salminen’s procedure, Simos’ procedure or its revised version, Mousseau’s method, Hinkle's ‘resistance to change’ grid based on the Personal Construct Theory of Kelly, analytic hierarchy process (AHP) or the REMBRANDT system. In addition to the description and comparative analysis of the aforementioned methods, the results of the research concerning the preferences of the participants of the decisionmaking process towards the use of the selected techniques for determining the criteria weights are presented in the paper.
