Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to analyze the position of the German Christian Democrats towards the rapprochement between the Republic of Turkey and the European Union in the context of the immigration crisis. Article also refers to previous statements of CDU and CSU members in order to outline a broader perspective and answer the question of how far this position has changed due to the increased influx of refugees and immigrants to the Federal Republic of Germany and the need to stop it. The attitude of members of both parties towards financial assistance to Turkey (whose aim is, inter alia, to improve the living conditions of Syrian refugees residing in that country), liberalization of the visa system for Turkish citizens, creation of the European contingents and implementation of the readmission agreement have also been analyzed – because these are the elements that most often appear in the statements of the Christian Democrats in the context of the imigration crisis.
