Summary/Abstract: In this paper, the author contemplates new interpretations of Durkheim's multilayered sociology through more or less implicit strategies of medicalization of social control and clinicalization of social practice that are embedded in Durkheim's work. As a result of a comparative analysis between Durkheim and Foucault, the author comes to a new standpoint where Durkheim's sociology, through the abovementioned concepts, has been an instrumental factor in building the scientific identity of sociology.
