THE PLACE OF MUSIC IN PATRISTICS

Summary/Abstract: As musicians, we find it beneficial to research the meanings of music as reflected in Patristics. This study is a reminder that music has a divine role, and that it is important to never forget that the sonorous art has always been used as praise. Starting from the importance of music in the Holy Bible, we will discuss the place of music in Patristic texts. For a meaningful musical life, we believe that it is our duty to read and deepen the ideas put forward by the Church Fathers about the way music has to be merged with faith.
