Summary/Abstract: Cultural heritage is a set of goods inherited from the past which people identify as their own values, beliefs, knowledge and tradition. Protection of cultural heritage, its preservation and promotion is one of the most important factors in the current globalization process, and its final goal is to preserve the cultural identity of a nation. Understanding the cultural heritage as well as the education for its protection as a part of educational system and raising students’ awareness of these issues can be successfully implemented in the Science and Social Studies teaching. In this context, the views of the final-year students of the Teacher Training College on the importance and possibilities of understanding and exploring the cultural heritage within this subject of instruction were considered. Also pointed out are some basic goals and tasks of education on cultural heritage and the possibilities of its realization using various learning and teaching strategies, methods and processes which may contribute to the popularization of the contents about cultural heritage among students.
