Summary/Abstract: Music is close to all human cultures. Numerous researches result in positive effects of music as a mental stimulus that helps in achieving better results. The aim of this paper is to research the effect of music on short-term memory and on the verbal learning with the students of the institutions of higher education through a digital test (Digit Span Test) and the Rey Auditory Verbal Learning Test (RAVLT), and to provide an insight into the changes of the activity and alertness of examinees once all the set tasks have been accomplished.
