Summary/Abstract: This paper presents a novel Die Dunklen (2007) by Ralf Isau. I analyse the presence of Franz Liszt’s music in this work. Isau uses Liszt’s music to explain history and the aesthetics of music, and also the influence of music on human being (e.g. Plato, music rhetoric, programme music, and audio marketing). The most important part of this paper is the analysis of structure and narration in this novel in relationship with musical techniques and forms.
