Summary/Abstract: Based on semi-structured interviews, published materials and archival material from the Croatian State Archives this article reconstructs main elements of everyday life of Serb families in the twentieth century in the eastern part of the Zagreb County (in contemporary municipalities of Vrbovec, Ivanić-Grad and Sveti Ivan Zelina). Author is particularly focussed on family structure, relationship between old and young people, upbringing of children, the custom of marrying and the custom of death, and certain religious traditions. Data are provided on surnames of Serb families in the eastern part of Zagreb County and on number of inhabitants by ethnicity in settlements where Serbs lived – both in the past and in present.
