Summary/Abstract: 2017 was a significant year for Romanian archaeology, as it represented the anniversary of 180 years since the finding of Pietroasele Treasure (1837), 150 years since the Paris Exposition (1867), and 140 since the foundation of the department and of the first course in archaeology (1877), the merit of the renowned man of culture Alexandru Odobescu. The common denominator of these stages is the Pietroasele Treasure, which was dedicated, eighty years since its discovery, a brochure printed in Braila by Commander Constantin Mănescu.
