Summary/Abstract: Laity – men and women – are an essential constituent element of the church, without which church life can not be conceived. If it is true that where the bishop is, there is the church, so true is that the unbelieving bishop is not the church. Therefore, the hierarchs, the clergy and the people (laymen) form the whole church, whose elements cannot be conceived separately, so that the church body can exist and function normally.
