The collapse of this state and regain of Abbasids completely control over the Egypt and Syria have occurred only in the reign of al-Muktafi. Muktafi who saw that Tulunids were really getting weak politically, military and economically owing to the power struggles in the capital and Qarmatian revolt in the Syrian region, firstly struck against Qarmatis afterwards acted against Tulunids and secured easily those two regions. Nevertheless, to gain full control of Egypt could be achieved only after forcing down the revolt of Ibn Halenci who claimed to act on behalf of Tulunids.
