Summary/Abstract: The article reviews an autobiography authored by Alexandru Ș. Bologa, Romanian biologist, former Director of the “Grigore Antipa” National Institute for Marine Research and Development in Constanța. The book invites readers to a journey to the past and back again, and familiarizes them with events and acheivements of Romanian and foreign biologists cooperating as part of the Mediterranean Science Commission, the International Oceanic Institute etc.
