Summary/Abstract: The paper analyses relations between operational planning and remuneration systems in Polish companies. The first part of it, following a brief characteristics of the examined enterprises, discusses the ways in which companies set their operational goals. Various forms of top-down and participative planning approaches and their possible impact on employees’ performance are presented. Subsequently, motivation and remuneration systems applied in Polish companies are identified. They include both direct and indirect relations between corporate goals and employees’ salaries, various types of bonuses, as well as fixed payments. The final sections of the paper analyses the scope of integrating corporate objectives in employee motivation systems and evaluates the effectiveness of such solutions from the employees’ perspective.
