Summary/Abstract: The most popular proposition of electoral low reform in Poland is postulate of introducing single-member districts in parliamentary elections. This proposition is often discussed in media. In press discussion the topic of electoral low reform is presented in surprisingly reliable way. However this subject is presented also in social media, where way of argumentation is short and one-sided. Despite the fact, that effects of different electoral laws are quiet well recognized and researched, surveys of CBOS shows, that the level of knowledge about electoral law among society is low. Opinions presented by respondents are often self- contradictory. The same surveys shows also, that majority system is socially preferred. The main part of the article is survey conducted on the group of 163 people. Respondents were young well- educated people. The aim of the survey was to find out what is the level of knowledge and preferences towards electoral system in this group. The level of knowledge about polish electoral system among the group was high. The group was highly divided in anticipating effects of introducing single-member districts and significant part of respondents anticipated effects which are very unlike. In contrast to the whole society majority of researched group were against introducing single- member districts. There was no significant correlation between preferences about electoral system and electoral preferences. All respondents declared dissatisfaction with current electoral system. The conclusion from survey is that the level of knowledge about different electoral systems is low, even in the group of well-educated respondents. In order to obtain more complex results the survey in different social groups should be conducted.
