Summary/Abstract: After the end of World War II Poland found itself in the Soviet sphere of influence. That resulted in the need to build a new state and identity of the society based on the communist ideology. It was also a time of settling accounts with the traitors of the Nation. The article presents the most important legal acts influencing the formation of the society in the first post-war years, and special emphasis was placed on the issue of the fight against the Volksdeutsch.
