Summary/Abstract: From one of the first sociologist Ziya Gökalp, is the same time the first religious sociologist in Turkey. He discusses in generally from point he’s ideological and sociological identity. However he has other one identity as very important as the others. He is founder modern sociology of religion in Turkey. In this article Gökalp will be examine from this point. What are the contributions Gökalp’s to the sociology of religion tradition in Turkey? And what is he’s methodology of sociology of religion? Is he ordinary a translator of Emile Durkheim? This and like this questions will be work lighting from perspective sociology of religion.
