Summary/Abstract: The author discusses Lenin's role in dealing with two critical situations. The tirst'arose when the peace treaty of Brest Litovsk was signed, as the concepts of Lenin, Trotsky and some others differed considerably. The second- was due to the difficult economic situation, when the viewpoints and demands of Trotsky were met with a sharp reaction of the trade unions.
