Summary/Abstract: The paper deals with a neglected topic in the history of Romanian philosophy, the “scientific philosophy” of the scientists from “Onicescu Seminar in Philosophy of Science” which were active in the 3 and 4 decade of the XX Century at the University of Bucharest. The kind of scientific philosophy developed by the “Onicescu Circle” distinguished itself by the following main characteristics: (i) it was besed on the abstract‐structural theorizing in mathematics and physics; (ii) their conceptual analyses constituted a kind of foundational research in special sciences; (iii) the analytical tools used were rather mathematical than formal‐ logical. The Onicescu’s group of philosophically minded scientists intended to promote a constructive program in the analytic philosophy of science.
