Summary/Abstract: The presence of Nazi elites in all areas of the Federal Republic of Germany’s life is obvious to most people. However, also in the Federal Republic of Germany, both in everyday discourse and scientific studies, hardly anyone asks about the socio-political consequences of this phenomenon. In general, this problem is downplayed. Manfred Roeder, a military judge with the rank of general, was one of the shameful activists of National Socialism. He was notorious for violent investigations against the anti-Hitler opposition. As a result of his efforts, dozens of German dissidents were tortured and murdered. After the war, due to the widespread presence of National Socialist lawyers in the judicial apparatus of the Federal Republic of Germany, he managed to avoid responsibility and was rehabilitated. In the following years, he renewed activity aimed against the circles of former dissidents and significantly contributed to their continued discrimination. In the post-war reality, many of them were deprived of social benefits and surrounded by social ostracism. Their drama did not meet with sympathy or interest in German society.
