Summary/Abstract: Due to the Mongols' cruelty, 13th and 14th centuries were periods of administrative chaos and social conflicts in Anatolia. During this chaotic period, mystic scholars and suphies, such as Mawlana and Yunus Emre, always attempted for the unity of the people by using the religion. Certainly, Ashik Pasha was also one of such leaders. In his writings, he guided the people and tried to help them to alleviate the social atmosphere by using the spiritual dynamics. Gharibnameh was one of his such works. He explained in that work the esence of the religion and the reality of the life in hundred stories. Each subject in Ashik Pasha's Gharib-nameh was supported by Quran verses. The present article discusses the relation between Gharib-nameh and Quran. Moreover, it gives information about Ashik Pasha's life, works, and Gharib-nameh. It also presents selected examples explaining Ashik Pasha's approach to Quran verses.
