Idea and legal and factual conditions for functioning legal deposit copy in Poland

Summary/Abstract: The article presents the most important Polish legislation related to the deposit copy. Against this background, reference was made to the actual conditions of functioning of this privilege with the environment. The issues that over the years created the situation on the book market were indicated, referring both to the changing political, social and economic conditions. In addition, the main directions of changes regarding the deposit copy were outlined.
